In December 2021, the opening ceremonies of the “VR China” China National Painting Competition China Touring Exhibition Xi’an and China University Touring Exhibition Hainan, jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, the Colombian Ministry of Culture and “VR China”, were held at Xi’an Conservatory of Music and Hainan Software Vocational College respectively. Prof. Luo Xun, Secretary General of VR China and Director of the Special Committee on Virtual Reality and Visualization of the Chinese Computer Society, together with Ms. Pabon, Third Secretary of the Colombian Embassy in China, representative of the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia in China, Pan Yanhong, Vice Mayor of Qionghai City, Wei Yingbin, President of Hainan Software Vocational Technology College, and Ms. Pabon, Master Instructor of the Chinese Academy of Operas, and Director of the Chinese Academy of Painting. The opening ceremony was attended by Li Xin, Master Instructor and President of the Beijing Pastel Painting Research Association, Xu Shao Yi, Director of the Culture and Arts Vocational Teaching Steering Committee of Hainan Province, and Wang Shi Jiang, President of the Qionghai Artists Association.
At the opening ceremony of the Xi’an stop, a video of the Colombian song “MI PUEBLO NATAL (My Hometown)”, performed by teachers of the Xi’an Conservatory of Music with Chinese instrumental music, was shown, causing a great applause from the audience.
The representative of the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia in China, Melissa Murcia Pabon, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Colombia in China, pointed out that the Embassy of Colombia in China has been committed to the “Colombia Abroad Promotion Initiative” project and has carried out a series of educational and cultural activities. The exhibition in Chinese universities was supported by the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, the Colombian Ministry of Culture, the Chinese Ministry of Culture, the Colombian National Education and Training Center, and the Colombia-China Friendship Association. She hoped that the in-depth exchange and cooperation could further strengthen the relationship between Colombia and Asia and the world, and enhance the friendship between China and Colombia.
