Connected Universal Experiences Labs Research Center held a highly relevant event: the first China-USC intercultural conference. The purpose of this event was to strengthen ties between the Universidad Santiago de Cali (USC) and China, through a collaboration that involved the Chinese Community in Valle del Cauca, the General Directorate of Research, and the Department of Culture of the USC. The setting chosen for this event was the USC campus in the Pampalinda neighborhood.

During the first cultural exchange between China and USC, four booths were set up, giving students the opportunity to delve into highlights of the rich Chinese culture. These stands addressed topics such as Gastronomy, Calligraphy, Decoration and Traditional Dresses. Additionally, the event included a dazzling performance of the Lion Dance, a powerful symbol of Chinese culture, which is associated with good fortune, prosperity, and joy.

The Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at USC’s Pampalinda campus attracted a large audience, highlighting the fruits of the collaboration that has existed between USC and multiple Chinese entities including government, societies, and universities over the past decade. This event stands as the first in a series of exchanges that will take place between USC and the Chinese government, through the platform of the Connected Universal Experiences Labs Research Center.

Connected Universal Experiences Labs has established strategic alliances with both the Department of Culture of the Universidad Santiago de Cali and the Chinese community in Colombia, with the aim of carrying out joint projects.
