In the port of Buenaventura, an important container port in Colombia, the China-Colombia Internet Connectivity Laboratory has used digital simulation technology to help upgrade the port, including waterway dredging, and plan the construction of a new port. Researchers in the laboratory assisted Colombia to use unmanned aerial vehicles to observe the Crab Island where the new wharf is located at the port site. They also applied the “intelligent and efficient scene modeling and rendering engine” and other technologies from China into the ground, established three-dimensional models of the existing wharf and the new wharf, and made simulation planning for multiple channel dredging schemes.
