The Connected Universal Experiences Lab supported the China VR Cup, the first national painting contest celebrating 40 years of friendship between China and Colombia. The contest was organized by The People’s Republic of China Embassy in Colombia; the Ministry of Culture Colombia; SENA; China VR; Art of China; Colombian China Friendship Association; The Bridge Club, Bogotá; Painting and Chinese Caligraphy Institute; Zhenyu Art and Bone Writing Oracle Center; Confucius Institute, Medellín; Art Universities and Primary and Secondary Schools in Colombia.

The ceremony was opened by the Honorable Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China in Colombia, Mr. Lan Hu; the Honorable Colombian Ministry of Culture, Dra. Carmen Inés Vázquez Camacho; Honorable Director of the Science and Technology Committee Director, Professor Zhao Qinping; Honorable Director of CCF-TCVRV and China VR Secretary, Dr. Xun Luo. The comitte that judged the painting was formed by 30 prominent personalities from China and Colombia.
Juries
The contest had 41 participants in the Adult Professional category, 19 participants in the Adult amateur category, 6 participants in the youth category and 6 participants in the Children category for a total of 72 participants. A team from the Connected Universal Experiences Lab formed by Dr. Claudia Zuñiga, Andrés Betancourt and Bryan Martínez from Universidad Santiago de Cali and Prof. Andrés A. Navarro Newball from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Cali helped in developing the exhibition and votation platform available here. A team from China VR formed by Prof. Shaoxiong Wang, Ye Wenlong and Mr. Ke Jun helped in the 3D exhibit. Winning paintings will be included in a itinerant exhibit around China. For both adult categories, second place winners will get a visit to the artist at China VR in Cali (Connected Universal Experiences) and 500 Yuan; the first place winners will get a paid one week visit to China which includes a visit to two laboratories and Great price winners will get MSc or PhD scholarships in China. For the Young category second place winners will get a visit to the artist at China VR in Cali (Connected Universal Experiences) and 500 Yuan; the first place winners will get a paid one week visit to China which includes a visit to two laboratories
