On February 23, at USC’s COMBA laboratory facilities, the board of directors of the CCF club, the Faculty of Engineering and the General Direction of Research of USC, received Dr. Xun Luo and the First Secretary of the Cultural Division of the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, Dr. Yuan Juhua. This visit has strengthened the relationship between Universidad Santiago de Cali and the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, through the Connected Universal Experiences Labs Research Center.
During the stay of Dr. Xun and Dr. Yuan Juhua, the director of the CCF-USC club, Catalina Hoyos, presented the CCF-USC’s plans for further expansion in the region by 2024. In addition, projects that achieve social impact in the region through the use of virtual reality were presented.
During her visit to Universidad Santiago de Cali, Dr. Yuan Juhua has expressed great interest in strengthening academic ties and promoting student mobility between USC and the Chinese government. In this regard, she has committed to actively collaborate through the Chinese Embassy in Colombia and the Connected Universal Experiences Labs research center. Her experience during the visit has reinforced her conviction in the importance of international cooperation in education and science, and she hopes to contribute to the mutual enrichment of both institutions and countries.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were given access to the University facilities, where they visited representative areas of Universidad Santiago de Cali such as the simulated hospital, the brewery (USC spin-off), the postgraduate building, the USC forest and the office of the Connected Universal Experiences Labs Research Center at the University.
