On December 26, 2021, during the 2021CCF China Blockchain Technology Conference hosted by China Computer Society (CCF), more than 300 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs gathered in Haikou. We witnessed the opening of the Digital Twin and Smart Internet Innovation Laboratory jointly set up by our university, China Unicom (Hainan) Innovation Research Institute and China-Columbia Smart Internet Connectivity Laboratory in the conference room of China Unicom (Hainan) Innovation Research Institute. This is the first digital twinning scientific research complex established in Hainan Province since the release of the Smart Hainan General Plan (2020-2025) (hereinafter referred to as Smart Hainan Plan).
After nearly two years of preparation, the Innovation Laboratory was jointly set up by our university, the Innovation Research Institute of China Unicom (Hainan) and the China-Columbia Intelligent Network Interconnection Laboratory. Located in Qionghai City, it will be committed to the research and development and application of digital twin core technology, and provide a high-end domestic and international exchange platform. Professor Chen Zhong, Executive director of China Computer Society and adviser of Blockchain Committee, is the director of the Academic Committee, and Professor Luo Xun, director of Virtual Reality and Visualization Technology Committee of China Computer Society, is the director of the laboratory.
Conference held in innovation laboratory, after the ceremony to show preparation since 2020 three and cooperation of science and technology achievements: the south China sea biodiversity digital twin project has completed nearly hundred kinds of fish and coral category of digital south China sea, and the construction of the virtual simulation of Marine blue hole open to nearly all of the public science to visit; The Intelligent connected Vehicle digital twinning test site reproduces Hainan’s unique high temperature, high humidity, high corrosion, rainy “three high and one more” characteristic climate, providing a digital twinning verification environment for the testing, evaluation and practical application of new energy and intelligent connected vehicles at home and abroad. Digital twin smart classrooms have been put into use in Qionghai City and Cali City of Colombia, supporting mutual learning and common development between the young people of China and Colombia through 5G+VR technology.
In March 2022: CTC’s wechat public account “Smart Internet Internet Lab” was launched and began to publish content.
