The Center participated in a Webinar Seminar on International Cooperation against Covid-19

Like many countries, Brazil is currently in the dire situation of the covid-19 epidemic and the number of patients is increasing rapidly. The Brazilian government and institutions have embraced help from all around the world for support. In order to promote international cooperation against covid-19 and deepen the Chinese-Brazilian partnership, the Chinese Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro has organized a series of webinar seminars on International Cooperation against Covid-19 with themes that promote international cooperation in the fight against covid-19, the exchange of covid-19 treatment experiences, the strengthening of traditional medical research, the deepening of economic and commercial cooperation between China and Brazil. All webinars are streamed live and recorded for public viewing on YouTube, and China’s popular video platforms of Kuaishou and Weibo.

The most recent one of this seminar series was held on August 4, 2020, with the focus on utilization of Information Technologies. Given their previous successful collaboration experience with Colombia, the Connected Universal Experiences Labs leadership was invited to share their good practices. Professor Xun Luo, Ph.D. Co-Director and Vice President of the Academic Committee Professor Andres A. Navarro Newball of Javeriana de Cali, member of the Academic Committee made the presentation on behalf of the center.

The seminar also had the participation of: Mr. Guo Kuilong, Secretary General of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME); a representative of Coppe; Mr. Alexandre Suprizzi, CEO of Nansen and Sanxing LATAM GM; the representative of Huawei do Brasil; Mr. Chen Bo, Managing Director of COOEC Brasil Offshore; a representative of the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Mr. Alex Chen, Commercial Director of Gree do Brasil; and, Ms. Zeng Yunxia, Vice President of the Wiseman Group.

 

Topics covered in the August 4 meeting include: Overview of technological cooperation in the fight against Covid-19; anti-epidemic technological research in Brazil; anti-epidemic experience of the electromechanical business sector in both countries; medical diagnostic technology with artificial intelligence; P70 FPSO Project; telemedicine platform; virtual reality technology in pandemic prevention; national artificial intelligence devices in pandemic prevention; and, anti epidemic medical products.

Connected Universal Experiences Labs speakers sharing was very well received and praised by all participants. Mr. XU Yuansheng, commercial counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, commented the Center’s work as “extraordinary” and recommended the Center to a wide network of Chinese and Brazilian entities after the seminar.
