The center actively supports the online training activities organized during the outbreak of IEEE Ecuador Chapter
In the global scourge of the new coronavirus epidemic, Ecuador has become one of the hardest hit areas. As of April 2020, there have been thousands of confirmed cases. The whole country of Ecuador has also entered a state of epidemic prevention and enforced strict house orders. The physical sites of universities and research institutes are all closed.
In order to minimize the impact of the epidemic on learning, scientific research and engineering R&D, IEEE Ecuador Branch organized the “TeleWeek” online training activity week, inviting world-renowned science and technology experts to share with IEEE members. Due to the extensive recognition and influence of the center in Latin America, Dr. Luo Xun, the co-director of the center, was invited to conduct an online report on the theme “Digital city simulation and its application for communications” on April 16, 2020. More than one hundred IEEE members and interested listeners from all over Ecuador participated in online training activities.
Dr. Luo Xun focused on the cutting-edge theme of digital city simulation and introduced the work done by the center in promoting technology transfer and the cultivation of Latin American scientific and technological talents and the focus of work in 2020. The report was widely praised by participants.
